A SILVER VW Polo was retrieved from undergrowth at the St Albans end of the A414 Hemel Hempstead road after being spotted by a passing motorist this morning.
The vehicle, which had been badly damaged, was reported shortly at around 7.20am and was removed just over an hour later.
A police spokesperson said that no other vehicle was believed to have been involved in the incident and the registered owner had been traced to establish who had been driving it.
