A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital last night after being hit by a car in St Albans.

Ambulance crews were called just before 5.30pm to Alma Road following the accident which involved a blue Honda Jazz.

A spokesperson from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) said the woman was in a serious but stable condition when she was taken to Watford General Hospital.
