Woman seriously injured in car crash

AMBULANCES from St Albans and Hemel Hempstead were sent to a road traffic accident yesterday Monday) afternoon which left a woman with life-threatening injuries. It happened shortly after 2pm at the junction of Cherry Tree Lane, which is in the St Albans

AMBULANCES from St Albans and Hemel Hempstead were sent to a road traffic accident yesterday Monday) afternoon which left a woman with life-threatening injuries.

It happened shortly after 2pm at the junction of Cherry Tree Lane, which is in the St Albans district, and Redbourn Road in Hemel Hempstead and left the occupants of a car trapped and unconscious. The Herts Air Ambulance also attended.

Gary Sanderson, spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service, said: "The woman sustained significant injuries and required rapid treatment and stabilisation on the roadside. Following this she was taken by land ambulance to the Royal Free Hospital in London."

Six other people were involved in the accident but did not require hospital treatment.
