A WOMAN was mugged as she walked near St Albans station on Monday (January 10).
The 48-year-old was attacked from behind and had her bag taken as she walked along Victoria Street towards the station. She fell to the floor, sustaining minor injuries and needed to visit the QEII Hospital for treatment.
The attack occurred between 9.25pm and 9.30pm and the mugger is described as a white male in his mid twenties, around 5ft 10in tall and of slim build. He was clean shaven and wearing a dark hooded coat.
DC Rob Sheldon is investigating and said: “I would like to speak with anyone who was in the Victoria Street area around the time of this incident and may have seen anything, or if anyone has any knowledge of the incident, to contact me at St Albans Local Crime Unit on 01727 796066. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, on 0800 555 111.”
