A woman in her 30s has allegedly been sexually assaulted in a wooded area in St Albans.
The incident occurred off Hill End Lane, between 5pm and 6pm on Tuesday, January 26.
Investigating officer Temporary Det Con Jodie Carter, from the Sexual Offences Investigation Team (SOIT), said: “This area is popular with dog walkers and I am appealing for anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in the area around the time stated to please get in touch. It is thought that the suspect may have been riding a bike.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sexual Offences Investigation Team via the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101.
A 35-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted rape and sexual assault. He appeared at Hatfield Remand Court yesterday morning and has been remanded in custody.
