A WOMAN was sexually assaulted by a teenager in the middle of the afternoon in an alleyway in London Colney.

The 28-year-old woman was using an alleyway between Kings Road at the junction with Caledon Road and Manor Road at about 4pm last Thursday when she was approached by a teenage boy who groped her.

The woman screamed and the teenager ran off through the alleyway towards Caledon Road.

Police are looking for an Asian youth aged between 13 and 14, of slim build and with short black hair brushed forwards. He was wearing dark jeans and a black and maroon striped cardigan.

Det Con Zoe Austwick, who is investigating, said: "Crimes of this nature are extremely rare in Herts. However, this was undoubtedly a very distressing incident for the victim."
