WE’RE offering Herts Advertiser readers the chance to win tickets to the 126th Herts County Show.

The show, at The Showground in Redbourn, is always the highlight of the county’s event calendar.

And this year there will be a double red, white and blue celebration in recognition of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee over the same weekend – Saturday, June 2 to Sunday, June 3 – and the forthcoming London 2012 Olympic Games.

Every year the County Show gets bigger and better, and with more than 50 hours of free entertainment each day, there are no “hidden extra” charges for the wide range of high-quality displays and demonstrations, including the All Human Circus, simulator rides, face painting, Punch and Judy and lots, lots more.

And to help combat the on-going gloom and doom surrounding the UK economy, the show is offering a significant 20 per cent discount for tickets with no booking fee, together with free parking. But hurry, as this special offer ends on Friday, May 25.

Show secretary Mike Harman said: “Although the Hertfordshire County Show is already widely acknowledged as the best value for money community event in the county, we are determined to extend our growing reputation in 2012.

“We strongly believe that the 2012 family advance ticket at 31.60, admitting two adults and two children, offers exceptional entertainment value at less than 5 per hour, per family!”

This year’s popular Grand Ring attractions are Europe’s number one stunt and trick riding team, the Devil’s Horsemen on Saturday, together with the spectacular Chariots of Fire display on Sunday.

New for this year, and competing on both days, is the fast moving and actioned-packed Mounted Games equestrian display, with four teams striving for the prestigious gold medal.

Gates open at 8.30am on both days, and visitors are advised to arrive early to avoid traffic delays at peak times, with 35,000 expected to attend over the two days.

As event sponsors, the Herts Advertiser has teamed up with organisers of the annual agricultural extravaganza to offer five family passes to the show as competition prizes.

These family passes currently cost 31.60 and admit two adults and two children to the Showground for one day only and the winner can chose to attend either on the Saturday or Sunday. To be in with a chance of winning one of the family tickets, simply answer the following question.

Which display team can be seen in the Grand Ring on the Sunday?

A) Lord of the Rings
