The two Bunnings warehouses in St Albans will be rebranded as Homebase after its parent company sold the business.
Wesfarmers, which originally changed many of the Homebase stores into Bunnings warehouses, has sold the brand for £1.
There are two Bunnings outlets in St Albans - on Griffiths Way and Hatfield Road - but it is not yet known what will happen to them or their staff.
The Herts Advertiser previously reported in February that Wesfarmers had made a loss of AUS$1.3bn on the DIY chain.
A spokesperson said at the time it was “too early to say” if the stores would be closing.
