High Street in St Albans has been closed due to a burst water main flooding the street.
Witnesses have sent in pictures of water gushing from the road, which has been closed from at least last night so Affinity Water could carry out repairs.
An Affinity spokesperson said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by a burst water main on the High Street, St Albans.
“Our technicians have repaired the burst water main and are now working to relay the road surface and re-open the road as quickly as possible.
“A road closure is currently in place between Market Place and Chequers Street to ensure the safety of commuters and our technicians whilst this work is carried out.”
It is not yet known when the road will reopen. Traffic is being diverted via Folly Lane.
