A London Colney pressure group has released a song protesting against proposals for a 4,000-home garden village.
The Campaign for Colney’s track, entitled This Is A Protest Song, was uploaded to YouTube on Monday, March 5 and has already received nearly 500 views.
Lyricist and campaign organiser Brett Ellis said: “We produced the protest song as a tongue-in-cheek dig, with a serious message, aimed at Hertsmere and St Albans councils regarding proposals to treble the size of our village.
“The whole project involved local residents at every stage and cost nothing to produce. It brought the community together and gives them a voice with which to oppose the plans as we feel there are no other stakeholders fighting our corner.
“Simply, we wish to gain exposure to the situation facing London Colney and similar communities across the UK. This is a way of London Colney having a voice.
“If they don’t start listening and offering real engagement, we are threatening an album!”
