Oaklands College and the University of Hertfordshire have announced a new two-year chartered management apprenticeship for St Albans and Herts.
The fast-track qualification has been designed by University Campus St Albans (UCSA), a joint venture between college and university, to improve management skills at businesses and organisations which use the government’s apprenticeship levy allocation.
UCSA’s director of higher education Stephen Fox said: “Businesses often think apprenticeships mean very vocational, skills-based training and overlook the fact levy funds can be spent on acquiring managerial level skills for their businesses.
“We’ve designed this programme specifically for employees who are already performing as managers so they can apply what they learn directly back to the sponsoring company.”
The new qualification will be accredited with the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute for Leadership and Management.
