Two new houses could be builty on a former garage site on Holyrood Crescent in Cottonmill.
The application by the district council will be reviewed by a planning committee tonight, but officers have recommended granting planning permission.
Yet not everyone is pleased, with neighbour Hazel Murray saying: “Communal parking is already at a premium with people either parking on the pavement or curb, or on the corner of Holyrood crescent by Lectern Lane.
“Losing the four parking spaces [at the garage] will mean more cars being parked on the corner which will cause highway safety issues as people are unable to see oncoming traffic.”
The application allows for two parking spaces for each development.
Fellow neighbour Edward Mee said: “The proposed plans appear to result in a loss of at least two parking spaces that are currently used by existing residents on a daily basis. This will have a negative impact on existing residents.”
The meeting of the planning committee is due to start at 7pm.
