A bigger bakery and two new jobs have been created at Batford Co-Op following a £550k refurbishment.

The Lower Luton Road store will reopen on Friday, May 25 and will be open between 6am and 10pm every day.

Co-Op area manager Stephen Allsey said: “We are delighted to have undertaken such a significant investment, enabling the store to better serve its community.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming members and customers back into their new-look Co-op. We are proud to be part of the community, and our ambition is to ensure our stores are a local hub, a real asset locally.”

Co-Op members who purchase own-brand goods at the store will receive a five per cent reward and the Co-Op will donate a further one per cent to good causes, which in the past have included Redbourn Scout Group, and Roundwood Park and The Grove School parent-teacher associations.
