Parts of Luton Road and High Street in Harpenden will be closed at night between Tuesday, February 27 and Tuesday, March 6.

Carriageway resurfacing will take place between 9pm and 5am on the junction with Coopers End Lane and the junction with Vaughan Road for five nights, excluding weekends.

In addition to resurfacing, the work will include road markings, the reinstatement of pedestrian studs, and gully cleaning.

Herts County Council’s cabinet member for highways Ralph Sangster said: “These works form part of the county council’s ongoing commitment to maintain and improve our roads for the benefit of all road users in Hertfordshire.

“I realise the road closure on this busy road is likely to cause disruption and inconvenience to motorists and would ask everyone for their co-operation while the work is in progress.”

Any changes to the proposed start date, duration, or working hours will be announced on www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/roadworksBus service routes may be affected by these works. For details of any changes visit www.intalink.org.uk and look in the ‘service disruptions’ section.
