A RETIRING head teacher who has been at a primary school in Wheathampstead for more than a decade said her goodbyes this week.
Delia Bonner has been head at Beech Hyde Primary School for 12 years and to mark her retirement the school threw her a leaving garden party at the school on Thursday afternoon.
Over 150 pupils, parents, staff members and ex-pupils attended the party and Lisa Lloyd, a member of the Beech Hyde Association who helped organise the event, said that it was the perfect way to say goodbye.
She added: "It was a fantastic atmosphere, with music playing and people chatting for hours on end. It was very emotional for Delia, who took the opportunity to say her farewells to both the old and new faces from her Beech Hyde career.
