A VILLAGE is spotless after the efforts of Scouts, footballers and churchgoers to make it as litter free as possible.
As part of Litter Pick week, young people in Wheathampstead and a group from St Helen’s Church combined to rid the village of rubbish.
District councillor Chris Oxley, who invited the teams to take part, said: “I am proud to see the keen involvement of the young people and their leaders to do their best to tidy up litter and rubbish. We have a fabulous village that a careless few spoil by dropping litter and throwing away cans and bottles.”
