A golf club has teed off its charity efforts for the year by raising £2,300 for young people with serious and terminal illnesses.
Mid Herts Golf Club, Wheathampstead, has supported the Starlight Children’s Foundation through a series of events including a gourmet chocolate making and tasting session, raffles and a cake and coffee sale.
One member, Kate Haddon, even skydived for Starlight while in New Zealand.
Lady captain Janet Biscoe said: “We wanted to support a worthwhile cause that helps children at a local level.
“Some of our members’ children have benefited directly from the enriching work that Starlight does and we wanted to give something back.”
