Jewellery, power tools and binoculars were taken during the course of two Harpenden burglaries which took place last week.

Both occurred between the junction with Crabtree Lane and the Skew Bridge pub on Southdown Road in Harpenden, and involved burglars entering the rear garden via a side passage and forcing windows open.

One took place between 10.30am on Friday, February 9 and noon on Wednesday, February 14 and the other between 2.30pm on Monday, February 12 and 1.30pm on Tuesday, February 13.

On the second occasion, burglars stole jewellery, power tools, and binoculars, but details of any thefts from the first property have yet to be released.

Police have appealed for information and CCTV footage. To contact them, call 101 and give crime reference F2/18/366 for the first burglary, and F2/18/370 for the second.
