An investigation has been launched after burglars forced a front door open and ransacked a property.

The incident took place on Short Lane in Bricket Wood between 5.30pm and 7.15pm on Sunday, January 21.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Herts Police on 101, and give crime reference number F3/18/152.

This follows a slew of break-ins around St Albans, including instances at Sovereign Park, Bernard Street, Elm Drive, Avenue Road, and Hazelwood Drive in St Albans.

Herts police has promised to increase patrols, and the Police and Crime Commissioner has said he will increase council tax to provide more officers to tackle crimes such as burglary.
