Southbound services from St Albans resume stops at three stations
SOUTHBOUND rail services from St Albans have resumed stops at Hendon, Cricklewood and Mill Hill, after lightning strikes meant trains had to continue past them during today’s stormy weather.
A spokesman for FCC has confirmed that following the lightning strikes, which affected signalling on the Thameslink route, southbound services from St Albans are now able to call again at Hendon, Cricklewood and Mill Hill stations.
However a further lightning strike near Gatwick, which has since been cleared, has added to delays.
He said: “Together with Network Rail we have been working to limit the disruption this evening although the earlier lightning strikes in North London and near Gatwick will lead to delays and alterations this evening.
