A CALLOUS thief stole a watch from a vulnerable adult as he walked down a street in St Albans.

The victim was going along Church Street when a man came up to him at the junction with Grange Street.

He asked if the victim had any money and when he said no, took his mobile phone and wallet from his pocket.

The victim called for help, which made the thief drop the stolen items but not before he took the watch from the victim’s wrist and ran off.

The incident happened at around 10pm on Friday June 1.

The thief is described as a black man aged between 18 and 25. He had short or shaven hair and was wearing a light brown jumper, plain dark trousers and black or blue trainers.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should call the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
