A student visiting from Prague has won a photographic competition by focusing on capturing St Albans’ historic Clock Tower in an original way.
The contest, aimed at younger generations, was organised by volunteers at the tower and university student Jinghui Foo, with entrants encouraged to take photos that showed what the structure meant to them.
Winner Petra Koblova’s four photos of the iconic tower were described as “fresh and imaginative” and they were praised for their unusual angles.
St Albans Mayor Cllr Annie Brewster recently presented prizes to Petra and runner-up, Joseph Bonfield.
A spokeswoman for the volunteers said the Clock Tower would open on Good Friday, and be open every weekend during summer until the end of September.
The iconic St Albans building was visited by over 8,000 people from across the globe last year.
