CHRISTMAS arrived in style with the annual switch-on of the St Albans lights on Sunday.
A Christmas market featuring stalls selling gifts and decorations and a funfair for children formed part of the day’s activities organised by St Albans District Council.
Presenters from Heart FM were in attendance for the afternoon’s festivities, alongside performances from ElVince, Swanvesta Social Club, St Albans Rock Choir, St Albans Dance Academy and the Top Hat Stage and Screen School.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Beric Read was joined by Father Christmas and the Alban Arena’s Peter Pan panto stars - including TV presenters Paul Hendy and Katy Ashworth and radio personality Tank Montana - for the big lights switch-on, which took place at the later time of 5.50pm.
