LABOUR has held onto its parish council seat in the London Colney by-election, which was prompted by the death of the former councillor. Maria Aguado won the seat with 225 votes, compared to the 193 for her nearest rival, Vibeke Nazeri of the Lib Dems.

Trailing in a close third was Conservative David Winstone with 181 votes, followed in fourth place by Daniel Seabrook of the BNP, who secured 61 votes.
