Verulamium Park trees near Roman ruins set alight

One person was trapped in a car after it overturned on the clockwise M25 carriageway between Junction 22 and Junction 23, and was freed by the fire service.

Fire crews were called to a Verulamium Park, St Albans, last night (20) where a tree and some bushes next to the Roman ruins had been set alight.

The blaze, which is thought to have been started deliberately, was tackled with a hose reel at around 10.20pm.
