A VAN fire on the A1 this morning left a trail of traffic in its wake.
Firefighters from St Albans and Potters Bar spent half an hour extinguishing a blazing van after it caught fire near junction 1 at 7.30am.
Nobody was hurt as a result of the incident and the road is now clear of congestion.
