A man has been charged with assault following an alleged incident this morning (Friday) at St Albans City station.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said that officers were called to the station at 8am.
He said: “Prior to our arrival we received a further report that a passenger had been detained by an off-duty police officer and rail staff.”
• Nathan Smith, 25, of Revelon Road, Lewisham, has been charged with assaulting a police officer, assault with intent to resist arrest and fare evasion. He has been released on bail to appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday March 17.
