A 32-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and burglary following an assault at a St Albans inner city pub.
A woman in her 60s was yesterday (Thursday) taken to hospital with head injuries after being assaulted during an alleged burglary of the Robin Hood pub, Victoria Street.
A spokesman for Herts Police said it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage on the incident.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust confirmed that they received an emergency call at 4.54am, and that officers transported the woman to Watford Hospital for treatment.
The man from St Albans appeared at Hatfield Magistrates Court today (Friday) and was remanded in custody.
