UPDATE: Police appeal after cyclist seriously injured in St Albans collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 64 year old cyclist was seriously injured following a collision with a van on this morning.
Emergency services, including Herts Air Ambulance, were called to the accident in Batchwood Drive, St Albans, just before 10am.
The cyclist suffered serious pelvic and leg injuries and was flown to Royal London Hospital, where he is currently in a stable condition, while the 26 year old white Mercedes-Benz Vito panel van driver did not receive any injuries.
Sergeant Paul Pickett is investigating the collision and said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle or cyclist prior to the collision, or the incident itself, to make contact with me.”
