Update: Man suffers head injuries following collision in St Albans

A MAN in his 70s has been taken to hospital with head injuries, after he was hit by a car in St Albans this afternoon (Wednesday).

Emergency services were called to the scene, in London Road, shortly after midday, following reports that the man had been in collision with a blue Lexus.

He was taken by ambulance to Watford General Hospital with serious head injuries.

A number of road closures are currently in place, including London Road, Marlborough Road and Chequer Street.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
