TWO people were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation following a fire in a flat on Monday evening.
Firefighters were called to the first-floor property in Aysgarth Close, Harpenden, at around 6.30pm but found the fire was out on arrival.
An ambulance spokesperson confirmed that two people were taken to Hemel Hempstead Hospital with minor injuries.
After dealing with the incident, the firefighters from St Albans spent time speaking to other residents in the block of flats to ensure that they had working smoke alarms.
