A St Albans road was riddled with traffic this morning (Wednesday) following two separate crashes between motorcycles and cars in the space of half an hour.

A motorcyclist in his 30s was hospitalised with a leg injury following a collision with a car at the junction with Green Lane on Batchwood Drive.

He was driving a white Honda motorcycle when he collided with a black Ford Focus at about 8.25am, and was later taken to Watford General Hospital.

At about 9am another motorcycle, a black Piaggio, crashed with a gold Vauxhall Corsa at the Batchwood roundabout on Batchwood Drive, causing substantial traffic delays on the surrounding roads.

Ambulance services treated a man in his 30s at the scene and he was not taken to hospital.
