A TEENAGER was assaulted by a man and a woman while walking in the city centre last Monday evening (July 29). The 16-year-old victim was in St Peter s Street at 9.45pm when he is believed to have been approached by the pair who asked him for a cigarette.

The 16-year-old victim was in St Peter's Street at 9.45pm when he is believed to have been approached by the pair who asked him for a cigarette. They then assaulted him and made off towards St Albans Town Hall.
A 38-year-old woman from St Albans and a 20-year-old man from Hatfield were both arrested in connection with the incident and bailed to return to Hatfield Police Station on July 14.
Police are appealing for information and investigating officer Pc Sarah Meacock would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who saw suspicious behaviour to contact her on 0845 3300 222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
