A CASUALLY-clad special needs school in St Albans helped raise over 100 with their Jeans for Genes Day.
Pupils at Watling View School invited Fifi, the ambassador for Jeans for Genes Day, to the school on for a day of dancing and sing-alongs.
Fifi is the forgetful star of popular children's TV show Fifi and the Flowertots, which appears on Nick Jr. Created by Keith Chapman of Bob the Builder fame, it features a group of flower-based characters who get up to all sorts of adventures in their garden.
Pupils each paid a small donation for the right to wear jeans to school as part of the fundraising day. They raised 150 in total for Jeans for Genes, a charity which works for children with genetic disorders.
Deputy head Jacqueline Clearkin said this was the seventh time the school has taken part in the day and added: "Fifi was a fantastic ambassador for Jeans for Denes day.
"All our pupils had a wonderful day and raised lots of money at the same time - we can't wait for next year! Thank you Fifi!
