Extra allocation tickets have been made available for the The Herts At War talk on the WW1 battle of Verdun, to be given by historian Clive Harris

A historic battle of great significance to St Albans will be the subject of a talk by TV historian Clive Harris, being held later this month.

Harris will be giving a talk on the Verdun, the WW1 battle commemorated by a horse chesnut tree at Waxhouse Gate, which was grown from a seed taken from the only tree left standing on the battlefield.

The event has been organised by the Herts at War group for Wednesday, February 15 at the Large Lecture Theatre on the University of Hertfordshire’s De Havilland campus.

The talk will begin at 7.30, lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes, and tickets can be booked via www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/verdun-by-clive-harris-tickets-27215252553
