A tuck shop treats sale raised £2,500 for an amputee charity based in Harpenden.
St George’s School students in Grant House have been dedicated to the project for two years, holding a weekly break time stall in aid of Elizabath’s Legacy of Hope (ELoH).
Organising charity captain, Frances Copp, said: “It’s hard work but enjoyable, but you do have to watch carefully to make sure that the customers actually pay the right amount.”
Another charity prefect Henry Biggs said doughnuts and Skittles were popular.
ELoH was founded after a bus mounted the pavement near Mortlake station in 2007, crushing the leg of two-year-old Pollyanna, trapping mum Sarah Hope, and killing grandmother Elizabeth. Pollyanna’s lower leg had to be removed and since then Sarah has fought for child amputee victims.
Sarah thanked the students. For more information about the charity, click here.
