A caravan en route to a travellers’ site in St Albans is blocking a road after falling from a low-loader this afternoon (Friday).

House Lane is currently closed as attempts are made to reload the caravan.

A spokesman for Herts Police said that they were called to the scene at 4.30pm.

The caravan was blocking one lane of the road, but the other side has also been closed to traffic by police to enable the caravan to be hoisted back onto the low-loader.

Traveller Michael Connors’ bid to expand at Ardens Rise, House Lane in Jersey Farm, was recently rejected by St Albans district council.
