A fatal car fire in St Albans yesterday is not being treated as suspicious by police.

Herts police said it was a woman in her 30s and her next of kin have been informed.

Paramedics, police and fire engines rushed to the vehicle blaze on Hixberry Lane at about 9.30am on December 28, but the East of England Ambulance Service said there was nothing they could do.

The area was cordoned off while investigations started.
