MOTORISTS who faced gridlock approaching St Albans city centre from Sandpit Lane this morning, Tuesday, have had an apology from Affinity Water.
A spokeswoman explained that a water main burst at the junction of Sandpit Lane and Charmouth Road at 7am today.
She said: “Due to the location of the burst, we are liaising with the local authority to arrange traffic management while we carry out the repair.
“We would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by the burst water main.”
Affinity Water was formerly Veolia Water.
