A STONE was thrown at a shocked motorist damaging her car as she drove along the M10 motorway.
The 30-year-old woman was driving a silver Vauxhall Zafira on the northbound carriageway near Park Street at around 8pm last Thursday, September 18, when the stone hit the car.
It damaged the windscreen, bonnet, bumper and headlights of the vehicle but she was uninjured. It is thought the stone could have been thrown from a field next to the motorway.
Police Community Support Officer, Alli Dewar from the Harpenden Safer Neighbourhood Team, who is investigating the incident, said: "This was reckless, selfish behaviour which could have resulted in a very serious incident. Thankfully the driver was uninjured but was extremely shocked by what happened."
Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Dewar on 0845 33 00 222or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
