A three-vehicle crash near St Albans caused travel misery on the M25 this afternoon.
Two lanes on the anticlockwise carriageway were closed between Junction 21 for the M1 and Junction 20, to allow Highways England to clear the cars.
The stretch reopened at about 5.45pm, enabling congestion to ease, but motorists are still advised to plan ahead before travelling.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured.
