More than 3,000 comics, which come from several substantial donations, will be made available in the Catherine Street store from 9am on Saturday, February 3.

The selection includes a broad range of modern comics and also issues dating back to the 1970s from both the UK and USA.

Money raised will go towards Oxfam’s work making sure people get clean water, decent sanitation, food and other essentials, as well as keeping the most vulnerable safe from harm.

Deputy shop manager Hannah Amey said: “We have been lucky to receive some very generous donations of comic books from different era. All proceeds from the sale will go towards Oxfam’s work to fight poverty; to that end we would always welcome more donations of comics and graphic novels as well as other kinds of books and music.”
