It was lights, camera, baa-action for some of St Albans' woolliest residents.

Livestock met live television when ITV's This Morning programme featured Willows Activity Farm in London Colney.

Presenter Alison Hammond was seen admiring a lamb - called Sean, obviously.

And she interviewed two members of staff, quizzing a shepherd and an award-winning sheep shearer from the rural activity attraction.

Viewers were treated to a live sheep shearing, while a relaxed brown and white sheep happily let him.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby clearly enjoyed the demonstration and commented from the studio on how calm the animal was.

But Alison couldn't be tempted to take the shears to a real sheep and was seen giggling, as she pretended to trim a stuffed sheep prop with scissors.

Earlier, she introduced the section broadcasting "Hello. I'm in St Al-bans. Is it pronounced St Al-bans or St All-bans? I always get it wrong."

"I can't believe he's brown on the outside and then inside he's black," Alison added, as the real animal showed off his smart new hair cut - a sleek sheepish trim.
