HEALTH-promotion officer Helen Duxbury has eaten her way around the world.

But she should be full of beans after her mission to research ways of promoting healthy eating in schools. She has recently returned from a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship to the USA, New Zealand and Australia.

Helen, who works for St Albans District Council, said: "From carbonated fruit drinks and school celebrity chefs in California to sliced apples and and crunch-and-sip morning breaks in Australia and New Zealand, each country had its own take on promoting healthy eating to children."

She said all three countries were taking steps to restrict certain food in schools and school gardens were also popular.

Helen will now be trying to put some of these methods into practice in St Albans.
