A TEENAGER was assaulted in an unprovoked attack near St Albans city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 18-year-old was walking home with three friends when they were approached by two men close to the Fired Earth shop in Holywell Hill between 12.30am and 12.45am.

They grabbed him and assaulted him, leaving him with minor injuries to the neck and head.

Police are looking for a white man aged between 18 and 19, of medium build and about six feet tall. He had short, shaved blonde hair and a wide face and was wearing a grey hooded top and spoke with a local accent

The other attacker was of mixed race, around 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build with brown eyes. He was wearing a grey hooded top and jeans.
