A TEENAGER was struck by a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday when he was walking along a St Albans road.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the incident which happened at around 2.30am on Cottonmill Lane near the junction with Leyland Avenue and Mentmore Road.

The 18year-old was walking along Cottonmill Lane when he was in collision with a vehicle travelling south towards the Cottonmill estate. The vehicle failed to stop and the teenager was left with a cut on his left temple which needed stitches.

Pc Ross Clark of Hatfield said: "It is believed that the vehicle may have been white. It may have part of its body work missing on the near front side. It is possible it could have either a smashed windscreen or front passenger window."
