A young driver had a lucky escape when his car turned over onto a private driveway.

The 19 year old had just cuts and bruises after being cut out of his car yesterday afternoon (Sun).

At around 3.15pm a black Ford Fiesta was found to have overturned before coming to a rest on a driveway on Beechwood Avenue, St Albans.

Road closures were put on at the junction with Hatfield Road, Sandpit Lane and Central Drive while the incident was dealt with and the vehicle was recovered.

The driver, who was from Baldock, was issued a fixed penalty notice for possession of cannabis and was reported for driving with undue care and attention.
