A ST ALBANS hotel has been playing host to not one but two international football squads this week.
The Slovakia team, including Liverpool star Martin Skrtel, have been staying at Sopwell House in Cottonmill Lane ahead of tomorrow's friendly with England at Wembley while the Ukraine team are preparing at the hotel for Wednesday night's vital World Cup Group Six qualifying clash.
The hotel has a history of accommodating visiting football teams as well as the England team themselves.
Sopwell House proprietor Abraham Bejerano said: "I am delighted to welcome both these sides to stay with us and hope that the ambience and charm of Sopwell House would get both sides in the right frame of mind before tackling England in their respective games.
