What a difference a year makes! A little over 18 months ago The Chocolate Wrapper family business was established by Peter and Kath Barker as a fun opportunity for their teenage daughters Sophie and Jess Coot to earn a bit of extra cash.

Roll the clock forward to December 2014 and the fun family initiative for personalised chocolate bars has grown into a strong local business that has seen the business enjoy continued growth and orders being received from across the UK and Europe.

The year has culminated in the family winning the Chamber of Commerce’s Best New Business Award for 2014, has seen the business being championed in the National Publication for the Federation of Small Business and, as part of their charitable giving, and seen the inaugural charity Chocolate Ball raise over £6,500 for the Hospice of St Francis.

Peter said: “It has been an amazing year for The Chocolate Wrapper and being recognised as the Best New Business really was the icing on the cake for us. We’re just a normal family who have proved that with a bit of determination, focus and drive to succeed anything can be achieved if you put your mind to it.”
