Firefighters from St Albans put out a fire following a suspected arson on Harpenden Common.
The fire service was called at 10.43pm to reports of a fire on the Common yesterday (Sunday, August 19).
A 10m by 10m area of grassland was alight, and a crew from St Albans attended and put out the fire using two hose reels and beaters.
The fire was extinguished by 11.10pm and is believed to have been deliberate.
